First Graze box review

Afternoon everyone!

Last week I had my first Graze delivery and I thought I would review my box every week (hopefully on a Wednesday) to let you know what I thought about the snacks I received. It was very easy to go into dietary requirements and click vegan options only, and then I went into the snack menu and binned anything I didn’t like. Most of my bins contains raisins because I hate them!

The first thing I opened was the habas tapas (29g) which consists of jumbo chilli corn, roasted corn, and chilli broad beans.

The jumbo corn was very crunchy and spicy with a good aftertaste of roasted corn, I liked it. The roasted corn was crunchier than the jumbo corn but didn’t have much flavouring due to a lack of seasoning, it could have done with some salt, at least. The chilli broad beans were the best part of this tub, they were delicious and really spicy but you could still taste the lovely roasted bean flavour.

Ingredients: jumbo chilli corn (giant corn, sunflower oil, salt, chilli), roasted corn (corn, sunflower oil), chilli broad beans (broad beans, sunflower oil, salt, chilli).

The second pack I opened was the punchy protein nuts (35g), which was chilli and lime cashews, pistachios, blanched peanuts, and almonds.

The cashews were great, there was instant tang from the lime and heat from the chilli, with an aftertaste of coriander. However, the plain peanuts and almonds were bland and boring in comparison. If I wanted to eat plain nuts I would buy myself a big bag of them, I’m looking for something exciting and flavourful, so I was disappointed. As well as this, the pistachios (which are my favourite nut) were kind of soft so I didn’t enjoy eating them.

Ingredients: chilli and lime cashews (cashew nuts (94%), chilli and lime seasoning (6%) (salt, sugar, tapioca and/or maize starch, spices (cayenne, cardamom, ginger, cumin), natural flavourings, herbs (parsley and basil), onion powder, yeast extract powder, yeast powder, dried bell pepper, rice flour, citric acid, garlic powder, malic acid, lime juice powder, colour (chlorophyll)), raw pistachio kernels, blanched peanuts, almonds.

The third pot I opened up was the rhubarb and pear compote (35g), even though I don’t like pear or cranberries I decided that I need to eat more fruit so I added it to my ‘try list’.

The pot contains dried rhubarb, pear and cranberries and that’s it. The rhubarb was sweet, tangy and fibrous (but not so much that it ruined my enjoyment), but I was expecting a little more flavour. The pear had a subtle taste which I actually enjoyed, the fruit was also quite moist for a dried fruit, but there were a few little seeds in it which I didn’t like. The cranberries were sweet and sour, very tangy and I was surprised that I liked them to be honest. I also tried all three fruits in one mouthful and it was delicious, fruity, tangy and sweet.

Ingredients: rhubarb pieces (rhubarb, sugar, sunflower oil), pear (pear, lemon juice concentrate), cranberries (cranberries, sugar, sunflower oil).

The last packet I opened, which I had saved as I knew it would be my favourite, was the Boston baguettes with BBQ relish.

The little tomato breadsticks had a good crunch, a nice crumble and I found the flavour both pleasant and strong. The relish is amazing, it’s sweet and tangy and is perfect with the breadsticks. I won’t be ashamed to tell you them I licked the remaining relish from the packet. I was definitely glad I ended my Graze journey for this week on this snack.

Ingredients: BBQ relish (tomato, apple, muscavado sugar, raw cane sugar, cider vinegar, dates, tomato paste, onions, red wine vinegar, salt, garlic, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce (water, soya beans, salt, sugar, wheat flour), malt vinegar, tamarind paste, curry paste (coriander seed, mustard seed, black peppercorns, cardamom pods, cumin seeds, fenugreek seed, cider vinegar), chilli, molasses, mustard flour, black pepper. Tomato breadsticks (wheat flour, sunflower oil, tomato powder (4%), salt, yeast, malted barley flour, oregano.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I’m looking forward to updating you every week as I try more snacks from Graze.
