A rather late review of vegan milk

Hi everyone,

This is probably the latest I’ve ever posted, but it’s still Tuesday so that counts right? I told myself I would post everyday this week because things keep getting in the way and I want to be consistent. Today’s review is on vegan milk which I have tried in the last couple of weeks.

The first product is Rebel Kitchen’s matcha green tea mylk, this is the only mylk that I hadn’t tried yet (other than the chai which I know I won’t like). I love Rebel Kitchen, their mylk is always so creamy and perfect, and the matcha version was exactly the same. I don’t like tea at all so this purchase was a risk but it was okay, the tea was very strong but still enjoyable. The closest taste would be a cold cup of creamy tea, and if you are a big tea lover than I suggest you buy this, you will not be dissapointed. I paid £1.89 for the 330ml carton at my local independent health food store.

Ingredients: Spring water, coconut milk (11%), organic date nectar, and organic matcha green tea powder.

The next two products are both from the Kallo rice milk range, the vanilla variety is one that I used to really enjoy as a teen, I find the rice milk really sweet and refreshing, possibly because most of it is water but I still really enjoy the taste and the plain vanilla is my favourite. I drink this straight from the carton, but would like to see what it’s like on cereal. I paid £1.50 for the litre carton in Sainsbury’s.

Ingredients: Water, rice (14%), sunflower oil, natural vanilla flavouring (0.1%), and sea salt.

The final product is the chocolate rice milk, I’ve never had this variety so when I spotted it in the 99p store I had to pick it up. It comes in a pack of 3 small cartons, so it would be great for children as well. The milk needed a little shake but it was refreshing whilst also maintaining a lovely chocolate flavour, it was also sweeter and thicker than the vanilla variety. I would definitely buy this again. If you can’t find it in the pound shops you can also buy the pack of 3x200ml cartons at Sainsbury’s for £1.50.
