It’s Wednesday which means by the end of the day I will be halfway through my week. Today’s review is of the new Meridian bars which I spotted in my local health food shop, I bought the peanut and cocoa, peanut and berry and peanut and banana varieties, I’m not sure if there are any others.
I really like the Meridian peanut bars, I’ve been less fussed on the other nut varieties so when I saw these new varieties I had to buy them.
The peanut and cocoa bar is slightly harder than the regular peanut bar, the cocoa gives it a little bitter taste which I don’t like, it also masks the lovely peanut taste. I wouldn’t buy this again to be honest. I paid £1.01 for the 40g bar.
Ingredients: Peanuts (52%), rice syrup, raisins (12%), cocoa powder (7%), cocoa butter (2%), concentrated fruit juice (apple, pear, grape), emulsifier: sunflower lecithin.
The peanut and berry bar is a bar with pockets of cranberries and raspberries. The berries are sweet and sharp and the seeds are still in there, something which annoyed me. I felt like the berries didn’t really go with the peanuts and I probably wouldn’t buy this one again either, although I liked it more than the cocoa variety. I paid £1.o1 for the 40g bar.
Ingredients: Peanuts (52%), rice syrup, cranberries (10%), brown rice protein, concentrated fruit juice (apple, pear, grape), dried raspberries (3%), emulsifier: sunflower lecithin, natural flavouring.
The banana bar was the best of the bunch (ba dum tss), the banana was sweet and deep and worked fantastically with the peanuts. I pretty much engulfed the bar in a couple of bites and wished that I had just bought three of these. Absolutely delicious. I paid £1.19 for the 40g bar.
Ingredients: Peanuts (48%), sundried banana (28%), rice syrup, concentrated fruit juice (apple, pear, grape), brown rice protein, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin, natural flavouring.
Hope you’ve had an amazing day
