Superdrug dead sea mineral mask

Evening everyone,

It’s five o’clock which means I only have one day left in work this week, it may be another 11 hour shift but I get the whole weekend off to sort everything out. We’ve had some really sunny weather this week which has made me very happy and I hope it sticks around for my time off. Today I should have had an ECG and blood tests to figure out what’s going on with me health-wise, but as I am writing this ahead of time I don’t know whether things went to plan, I’ll let you know tomorrow I guess.

Anyway, today’s review is a mud mask from Superdrug, the detoxifying dead sea mineral mud mask.

The mask is thick in texture, but is still easy to apply. There’s also enough in the pack for two applications. It’s kind of a purple-blue colour and has a lovely scent of lavender. My skin is quite sensitive, it can become flushed if something irritates it, and I only saw the bad reviews once I had purchased the product. Since I bought three packets on offer I decided to just go for it as I’ve never had a reaction to Superdrug’s mud masks or lavender oil. Some of these reviews were extreme with people complaining of a feeling of sunburn and being left with large red marks after washing the product off.

I was glad that I did try it because I found it extremely calming in terms of it’s scent and it really soothed my skin, I didn’t even have a slight reaction. The mask dries very quickly and tightens without feeling like it’s pinching. It’s also really easy to wash off and leaves my skin feeling very soft and clean. I’m not too sure if it provided the effects I was after, unclogging my skin and reducing my spots, but I have only used it twice, I will continue to use the product and see if it provides any longer term benefits in this regard. Each pack is 99p but they are on a 3 for 2 offer along with a range of other masks if you like some variety in your skincare regime.

I will not disregard what others have said about this product, however, as everyone’s skin is different and many other factors can combine, resulting in skin reactions. If you do want to try this product I suggest you do a skin test, like you would with hair dye, in case you are unlucky enough to have a reaction to it.

I hope you’ve had a great day, the weekend is nearly upon us!
