Trek berry burst review

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a few days off work which I’ve been using to relax and catch up on sleep. I finished my night shift at 7:30am on Saturday morning and then went shopping in town on my way home, resulting in me arriving home at around 9:30am. I then stayed awake til the afternoon and had a little nap. I barely had any sleep in a 48 hour period and I wasn’t tired at all. It was really frustrating. The most frustrating part about it was that I was awake but not functioning properly so I didn’t get anything productive done. To be honest, I played Sims 4 for a day. Oh well. It’s back to work tomorrow, four days straight of working on the phone and I’m not looking forward to it.

I haven’t posted much recently but I’m starting again fresh this week, my first review is on the Trek berry burst bar.

After trying the peanut power and cocoa chaos bars I felt like I should complete the trio and buy the berry burst variety. I have been trying more and more fruit based bars recently, mainly because they are filling and handy.

The bar is the same large, thick, three segment design which the other two have. I find it a little too thick if I’m honest, but I also find Nakd bars way too small. I can’t win. The bar has an instant berry taste when you bite into it, it reminds me of a berry porridge because it does has a little oaty taste to it. It also has the same soya crunchies as the other bar which I neither love nor hate. I found this bar to be softer than the other two, but not by much. It’s sweet and tangy, and surprisingly fresh. I didn’t find it heavy, maybe that’s due to the freeze dried raspberries throughout. It makes me feel like summer is around the corner, berries just have that effect on me. Out of the three Trek energy bars this one is definitely my favourite. I paid £1 for the 55g bar in Co-Op and went back and bought another the next day. As you can see from the following photo, I couldn’t even wait to photograph it nicely before I tucked in.

Side note: Every time I find something I like in Co-Op they start selling out of it, the carrot and houmous pot, the wrap, the custard doughnuts and now these bars, luckily they are stocked in other stores and I picked up a few from Tesco.

Ingredients: Dates (33%), Raisins (18%), Soya Protein Crispies (17%) (soya protein, tapioca starch, salt), Fruit Juice Concentrate (13%) (Apple, Grape, Pear), Gluten Free Oats (11%), Soya Flour, Freeze Dried Raspberries (1.5%), Natural Flavourings, Rice Starch.

Hope you have had a good bank holiday,

sig
