Sainsbury’s Freefrom Jam Tarts Review

Hi everyone,

I really haven’t been feeling well the last few days but I’m hoping I will be feeling better soon. Nothing much has been going on over here so I’ll get straight to the review.

Today I’m reviewing Sainsbury’s Freefrom Jam Tarts.

As much as I’ve changed from a super sweet tooth to a savoury one when I see something sweet that I haven’t tried before I get really excited. These tarts come in raspberry, blackcurrant and apricot, lovely flavours that I remember from eating jam tarts as a child. There’s something awfully special about remembering eating foods from birthday parties when you were little, and it’s even more special knowing that no animals were harmed in making them.

The reviews on the product page suggest that the pastry is solid, with one person actually saying that they broke their teeth on it. I personally think this is crazy, the pastry on the ones I bought was just hard enough so it didn’t fall apart, a little crispier around the top but overall soft and crumbly. Some have also complained that the jam tasted burnt or flavourless, with an odd texture but I didn’t feel this either. The jam on my tarts was perfectly set with an authentic texture and each flavour was full bodied. I just really enjoyed eating these and I can’t wait to buy another box.

The box of six tarts was £2 and I think that’s a bargain.
